2010 Award for Excellence in Program Innovation: Call For Nominations

This award has been established to identify best practice models in the field of aging and health. Emphasis will be given to those programs (in operation 10 years or less, but long enough to have documented results) that have effectively linked academic theory with applied practice in the field of public health and aging. An independent panel will review all nominations.

The Board of Directors of the Archstone Foundation, a grantmaking foundation committed to preparing society for the growing needs of an aging population, announced the approval of six grants, totaling $470,000. Grants were approved during the Board's quarterly meeting in September.

New Guidelines in Incorporating Spirituality in End-of-Life Care

The Board of Directors of the Archstone Foundation is proud to announce the release of a journal article on new guidelines incorporating spirituality in end-of-life care. The article, “Improving the Quality of Spiritual Care as a Dimension of Palliative Care: The Report of the Consensus Conference,” has been published in the Journal of Palliative Medicine and represents the final Consensus Report of a Summit sponsored by the Archstone Foundation.

The award was established in 1997 to identify best practice models in the field of health and aging, and to provide recognition and an opportunity to highlight the work at the annual meetings of the American Public Health Association.

On April 28, 2006, the Board of Directors of Archstone Foundation announced the approval of 11 grants under the California Senior Fall Prevention Projects, totaling $364,822 over eighteen months.

Responsive Grantmaking Submission Deadline
Letters of Inquiry
The Foundation accepts unsolicited letters of inquiry through its Responsive Grantmaking strategy on an ongoing basis. In an effort to manage the Foundation's review of letters of inquiry, proposals submitted before the 15th of a given month will be reviewed during the following month.
