Understanding & Combating Elder Abuse in Minority Communities Publication Year:1998
In June, 1997, the first national conference on elder abuse in minority communities was held in Long Beach, California. Sponsored by the Archstone Foundation and the National Center on Elder Abuse, this conference provided professionals the opportunity to share the latest information about the nature, scope and dynamics of elder abuse in minority communities. Over 300 participants attending the 2 1/2 day conference, which addressed elder abuse problems in racial and ethnic groups, including African American, Hispanic, Asian/Pacific Islander, and American Indian/Alaskan Native.
